Where You Are - Ladybug Landslide

For those of you who know me or have followed my blog for a while, you’re probably aware of my dedication to some artists, especially Ladybug Landslide. Marshall Lee, who is Ladybug Landslide, puts an incredible amount of himself into his music. His earlier albums and releases are mainly acoustic and sort of melodic; you hum along and tap your foot, and, while the lyrics are incredibly personal, touching and well written, the songs are soft. Well, Where You Are, the first of a series of singles to be released in the next few weeks/months, is something really new and refreshing from Ladybug Landslide.

These singles, well this single, has a new feeling, with some of the same things that make Ladybug Landslide so… good. The instrumentals are much fuller: not just an acoustic guitar and something to tap your toe to. When the song starts, though it feels quieter, more melodic, softer, with the echo and only a guitar, you can tell that it’s going to build into something incredible, and you’re definitely not let down. The drums come in and give the song a beat that seems to add layers to the song, not just a background tapping. And, although I seem to have been talking down about toe-tapping and all, this song is catchy. Incredibly, actually. And the vocals. Obviously one of the most important pieces of a song. Marshall doesn’t let you down… ever. It’s obvious how much time was put into the recording and of this song and it pays off.

All of the sounds, instruments, vocals, beats, layers, blend together so perfectly on this song giving it a very alternative, kind of, but not entirely, pop-punk sound. The build-up and progression do not, at all, leave you wanting for anything else. You will have this song stuck in your head, but I promise you, you won’t mind at all. Be sure to buy Ladybug Landslide’s upcoming singles! They’re really going to be incredible.

What Makes You Grin? - The Little Indians

Most of you are too hip to have ever listened to the recently-broken up pop-punk band You, Me and Everyone We Know, but that’s okay. That break-up turned into something really awesome, namely, “The Little Indians.” Augustine Rampolla and Kyle Gibson, former members of YMAEWK, recently released this first single from their new project and I know that they’ll have some more cool stuff coming soon. You can buy this single on bandcamp, like them on facebook, follow their band on twitter (or each of them individually: Augie, and I don’t know Kyle’s information, but he’s cool) and… you should.

But also stay tuned to this blog because they MIGHT be doing an interview for me that I’ll be posting in the next couple days. (And by might, I mean they totally are.)
